Our agency deals with many applicants that we assist for rent and many times the HUD applicants rent out the home that HUD assists them with and we pay them rental assistance! This is not only a duplication of benefits but a waste of money. I would like to have HUD do periodic checks or have a way for our agency to check on the homes and the household compositions to avoid them getting double benefits from the government.... more »
I see advertisements for public assistance programs everywhere it seems and I can't seem to understand the logic behind it. There is no competition and the necessary contact information is in the phone book, if you still use one, as well as online.
i know multiple families on section 8 housing. some are in need of help because they are not able to work. others have no problem working but choose not to because they don't have a reason to since the government is supporting them. i believe that individuals and families on section 8 should be limited to a time limit of how long they can receive these benefits with the stipulations that they are pursuing work unless... more »
