Online IRS account

I don't understand why I am mailing in documents that the IRS has already received from my banks, jobs, and etc. Why not allow individuals and companies to login to their account and see what documents the IRS has already received? Then permit them to upload the documents that are needed. Why mail in a document the IRS already has?

Computer systems should be able to "talk" to one another

Currently, a great deal of staff time is spent retrieving data from one computer system and manually inputting it into another system or into an endless stream of spreadsheets requested by officals for their numerous reports.

Nearly half or our workload is inputting wages for these claimants and any revision can... more »

Avoid Overfunding Grantees

Expand USASpending.gov to include contract and grant deliverables. Grant-making agencies inadvertently double, sometimes triple fund the same work. With this added capability, program managers could search for similar, already federally-funded deliverables and give higher priority to innovative, responsive and highly-rated yet unfunded proposals.

Reporting to HQ

Within recent years, HQ has significantly increased reporting requests/requirements to the Regions. As a result, each Region has utilized precious staff time responding to those requests instead of using that time better serving our external customers. It would be a better use of resourses if an individual was assigned reporting requirements at the Headquarters level instead of delegating it down to the regions. Keeping... more »

Save Awards - Reviewed By GAO Fraud, Waste, and Abuse

I've seen quite a number of recommendations that appear to be reports of fraud, waste, and abuse. These include everything from inappropriate use of government vehicles to abuse of governement hiring practices. The GAO should receive a summary, especially of heavily trended topics that would appear to be fraud, waste, or abuse cases.

Submitters should also consider this. If it's that bad, don't just wait until Save... more »
