Allow Permanant Part-Time Schedules for Career Employees

There should be an option for permanant career employees to work part-time. (Perhaps 4 out of 5 days a week.) The employee could pay out a little more in insurance, etc. but, would have a more family-friendly manageable schedule.

Allow current employees to decrease hours and fly new positions with part-time status. There is a huge market of employees willing to work fewer then 40 hours a week. This will allow alternative schedules which will help agencies serve the public with appropiate staffing. Staffing people to meet the needs of the work. Emphasize the option and benefits of working a 32 hour week (4 8-hour days) and cut salary costs by over 20%.

Many employees are unaware they are eligible to work this part-time schedule which would cut salary expenses by over 20% and give employees an extra day off.
