Save over $20 million in un-utilized field office space

In 2000, OIG compiled a study regarding costs for office space of examiner field offices. This study states 17 million is expensed annually (just for the FDIC, and other agency costs are similar). In addition, field examiners only used the office 20 - 30% of the time. Tele-work was just getting off the ground in 2000. Today, tele-work is a proven success. Using electronics to save money of paper, storage, communication

Currently the use and storage of paper files creates a tremendous demand for paper and space. If flashdrives were used for each separate master file, there would be very little need for paper or storage space. Thousands of files could be stored in one desk drawer. Construction Ducuments Digital Vault, Division or Bureau

PROBLEM: typical Construction Documents Sets (like drawings, specifications, contracs, bid packages, etc.) are very large and heavy weight in nature, consuming a lot resources and money from the agencies & customers.
