I understand that this is for security purposes, but the fact is these computers are so slow and outdated that they make teleworking a waste of time. They take up to 30 minutes to turn on and connect, grind to a halt when accessing the remote desktop, and crash often.

The IRS just authorized WI FI installations for all Laptop computers. Since most Laptops already have wireless capability this made good sence. Why not make all computers WI FI connectable and do away with the rerouting and rewiring of landlines for computers inside all agencies conducting business.

Our agency received new CISCO phones this year - $600 each. Right after, we were offered "soft phones", which are $5 for the software and $70 for a really nice headset.
