Surtax corn used for junk food and subsidize Fruits & Vegetables

Most junk food is made from corn byproducts. Most junk food is also cheaper to purchase than healthier food options (like fruits and vegetables). This is not a coincidence. Corn is cheap because it is subsidized by the government. Thus, the government is indirectly lowering the price of junk food at the supermarket by subsidizing corn.

Food-Specific Bridge Card Benefits

The Women Infants and Children program (WIC) requires participants to purchase food-specific items. Why can't this requirement be in place for bridge card holders? Less unhealthy food and beverage choices means less overweight and healthier participants, equating to less medical benefits for participants to be paid by taxpayers.

Stop Hiring Contractors to Provide Flu Shots

Contractors provide flu shots to feds at a cost to the government and at a cost to the employee. Instead, provide feds with a coupon or other discount to get the shots at the nearby CVS/Walgreens. This would save money to the government by not having to pay the contracting company and would save money to the employee since often the shots at CVS/Walgreens are cheaper than offered through the contractor.
