Corporate Airline Rewards: use travel to earn free flights

Establish (where possible) an account for business rewards travel that allows us (the U.S. goverment) to use airline travel miles to book free business related trips without taking frequent flyer miles away from the individual traveler's frequent flyer account(s). Travel Restrictions - Gov Wide

Restrict government travel to only that necessary for the purpose of the agency and be justified and approved. No spouses, dogs, kids, etc. Only 1 person needs to attend conferences but must present the ideas and information to the rest of the agency/department in a written report within 30 days of returning. Congress is especially included in this. They should travel on their own dime and if ANY travel is awarded... more »

Renegotiate Air Carrier Contracts

Contract flights from Washington, DC, to USG training facilities in Columbia, SC and Brunswick, GA seem much higher than they could be negotiated. They are approx $650-1000, and hundreds of USG employees take these flights each month (conservative estimate). If the contracts cannot be renegotiated, perhaps government agencies with aircraft could fly "charter" flights on Mondays and Fridays to these locations.
