Eliminate Citizenship Paper Certificates w/Plastic Card

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services currently issues very expensive Certificates of Citizenship and Certificates of United States Naturalization. They are printed by the Treasury Department's Engraving & Printing and then issued after vetting and a fee of approx. $600 dollars plus is paid to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Reduce foreign student stipends > $80,000 US

Some NIH and other National Institute Foreign Students are collecting stipends over $80,000 US. With US median income at $55,000 this seems to be terribly irresponsible. These stipends should be reduced (easy) to no more than 50% of US median income, or eliminated and turn the institutes like NIH & NIST into profit centers by collecting fees from personnel studying at these institutes; make them advanced certificate awarding... more »

Civilian/Contractor in Afghanistan

I believe if you got rid of the contractors/civilians in Afghanistan it would reduce the deficit tremendously. While being deployed here (AF/E-7) I have met so many American citizens that are getting paid 6 digits for what the actual military can do cheaper. For example, there was a fork lift driver moving cargo when the planes arrive and he stated that he has been here for 8 years and makes $125,000/year. Also we... more »
