Similar to employees pooling their dollars to buy a lottery ticket, employees could unleash the potentiality and the dynamic energy of the brain power of a group to generate viable ideas to: improving the quality of output at lower costs, simplifying processes to reduce administrative burden, or improving the speed of government operations to improve efficiency.
Each department would be responsible for implementing an electronic “suggestion box” for their employees.
If employees can see and submit ideas online at their department web site throughout the year it would result in two positive developments: employees would contribute their ideas more often, and management of that department would less likely dismiss the suggestions of their employees.
Close all offices except essential personnel the day after Thanksgiving. Many people use this day and its a waste to operate with lights, energy, guards, etc... for a few people.
Allow military members to access LES's via an archive system older than 11 months. Finance offices have to waste paper to print out old LES's requested by military member's due to audit's that get conducted on them by states or IRS. It turns into 3-5 pages per LES requested.
