Instead of branding Facebook and other social media outlets as "productivity killers" simply mandate that all Fed employees use their Facebook accounts for work. perhaps the Fed gov could work a deal with Facebook to create special groups for each department / agency. Make SAVE Award more like Wikipedia, less like facebook

Instead of having thousands, or tens of thousands of fragmentary ideas vying for "yes" votes, like some sort of facebook style popularity contest, the SAVE Award site could be redesigned to be more like Wikipedia, where hundreds of ideas would receive thorough debate, resulting in fully realized, throroughly vetted ideas at then end of the submission period.

We live in a windy area of the USA. Lompoc city is in talks with windmill companies now and we have a great opprotunity to join in and take advantage and may be able to recieve a better deal for installing a wind mill here at FCC Lompoc prison. If we drilled water wells here we would also have free water. We can also replace grass with Astroturf (fake grass)at every gov facility. water and maitaince savings are huge.... more »

I'm all for openness in government. However, employees are being encouraged to use facebook. I think this should proceed with caution in order to SAVE human resources. First, although every employee represents the government in their position, many line staff are not in a position to communicate with the public or act in representation of an agency position.
