Exercise pedals at work stations in offices for health & power

It is desirable for a number of reasons to provide means for federal employees to exercise while they are working at their work stations. Pedals to be put in front of our chairs with sufficient resistance so that there is real exercise would be best. The resistance could be adjusted.

Health makeover for federal employees

Create incentives for employee's to exercise regularly and set health guidelines based on current nutrition recommendations for cafeterias for all federal buildings. We have to lead by example in fitness and nutrition for the rest of the nation and employees will be more productive, satisfied, healthy, energetic and take less sick time.

Eliminate Operational Readiness Inspections (ORI)

The ORI process is an incredible waste of time and resources. Military units have been tasked for real wars for the last 10 years and regular training deployments for much longer. No matter what, they still have to undergo an Inspector General (IG) inspection every 3 years to prove they can deploy in a real world situation. open up grassy fields to exercise -- better health!!!

At the Suitland Federal Center, the grassy fields that could be used for exercise, walking, and sports are OFF LIMITS per GSA. There is no explanation as to why there are DO NOT WALK signs on the grassy fields. Employees are forced to jog and play sports in the harder to get to and less safe surrounding neighborhood, which takes more time away from exercise. Health Time for Federal Employees

My proposal is simple: Allow Federal workers to charge up to 3 hours per week to exercise. On the surface, this would amount to 7.5% of lost worker productivity, but that is based on an incorrect assessment of productivity - that each employee gives 100% for 40 hours per week.
