We don't need more taxes, nor do we need to always significanlty reduce core services. We can save billions if we just have responsible, honest and ethical leadership. Start at the top and change government by putting in place great leaders.
Stop the end of Fiscal Year wasteful spending on non-essential things and return the funds without detriment to the following years budget because of non-use in the previous year. Civilian employees in all grades up through the GS schedule are permitted collection of comp time both travel and otherwise and some may even collect overtime pay. There should be a cutoff for employees reaching certain levels in the GS schedule. It is outrageous that a GS-14 and GS-15 is collecting compensatory time instead of being considered as if they are "salaried". The government could save many dollars with... more »
