E2E (Employee to Employee) Awards

DFAS has an E2E Award Program which allows employees an opportunity to give two $50 awards per year to other DFAS employees for outstanding support, etc. There are approx 12000 DFAS employees. If all 12000 gave their 2 allotted awards, the total cost would be $1.2M. No one really works harder all year long for a couple hundred dollars, but you can make a hard working employee work less by giving them a smaller award than someone else. Therefore, I propose settin a standard amount for each service objective in SSA. Every year thousands of medals, plaques and trophies are given out to federal employees in recognition of noteworthy efforts. While this is nice it is not necessary and creates a lot of waste and cost pecious federal dollars that could be spent elsewhere.
