SBA Disaster Program and FEMA UNITE

We need to help the victims of disasters by uniting the Disaster Program of the SBA and FEMA into one agency. This would be a cost savings of millions.

Fema sends in an inspector, then SBA sends in an inspector. One thorough inspection would be more cost effective.

Fema sends out one mailing package, SBA sends out a mailing package. Combine this info into one, save more money.

UPDATE FEMA'S NEMIS

If FEMA can't get rid of NEMIS for a better system, then let's make the system work better for processing disaster claims and producing reports. The system was set up back in the 70's and times and processes have changed and the system is not working for us! When a sequence of events happen, NEMIS should be able to send out automatic notifications, complete processes, etc. NEMIS should be able to do more work for us.... more »

Eliminate Generic Printing Cartridges for OEM

These "generic" printer toner and ink cartridges are of poor quality and the cost savings are being tossed out the window every time we have to replace a next to new cartridge because it is failing. Not to mention the lost productivity and duplicated work when one of these fails. In two months time I personally have replaced four of these that were in use less than a week or two. FEMA Disaster Workforce & State Labor Department

FEMA utilizes several disaster reservist as community relations staff to provide surviors of disasters contact information to register for assistance and to perform clerical, warehouse or logistics staff work as local hires. Recommend that FEMA conduct a cost benifit and business case analysis to see if utilizing the State Labor Department's Unemployment Office as a "temp service" to fill these positions.
