Recently the Office of Head Start launched its Head Start Enterprise System (HSES). It's a great green tool for OHS and its grantees, allowing us to share files through a singular source.

Combine Federal Agency Work

There are numerous examples of work overlap. As an example why does the IRS and SSA conduct international negotiations when DOS is in charge of embassies and has the staffing to handle the work? By having one agency handle this type of work (for example) would bring the agencies closer together and would save a tremendous amout of operational work.

Our country has an over dependence of social programs, in fact it has gone so much out of control that many families have generational dependence on the programs. We cannot get people that are dependent on these programs to be self suficient if they teach their children that they too can rely on public assistance for sustainment. Ask callers if we can send documents/brochures electronically

When we receive calls via the toll free number or at an SSA office, we send out a paper letter, reminding them of their appointment time if they made an appointment. In other instances, we send out big paper booklets providing information with close out letters. Why not ask the caller to provide an email address as an alternative, and they can receive the information via email instead? We can save on mailing costs and... more »
