Donated Leave should be tax deductable as a charitable donation

Donated leave to help a federal employee should be consider the same as a donation to an approved charity. If an employee itemizes their tax return, then the value of the donated leave should be included in the list of deductions. If an employee with an hourly rate of $50/hr donates 10 hours then $500 is considered a charitiable donation and can be added to the list of deductions.
