Allow Federal employees who have undergone detailed background checks show a government ID and avoid pat downs at airport security check points. Lines would move faster, stress would be reduced, security clearance time could be better estimated, and employees would spend less time at the airport.
Our office recently began "suitability" background checks on employees classified as "medium risk level" or higher. I understand EPA is spending $500 per person to have "suitability checks" each time we change position or whatever. No one really knows what these checks are about. We are not a military organization (as far as I know anyways).
For those applying who are cleared, reimburse them. If not the government does not loose those funds.
