Get rid of Congresses Personal Jets and Other things

Right now the biggest thing that comes to my mind is Nancy Pelosi and the multi million dollar jet she had the government pay to get her so she could fly nonstop from her home state to DC, with her, her crew, and 200 reporters. Seriously, why is the government paying to transport reporters? Everytime her aircraft flys in any direction it costs the taxpayers 60,000 dollars. Why not do away with all the private aircraft,... more »

UNEMPLOYMENT = COMMUNITY SERVICE

If we are going to pay people who are unemployed, why don't we get some work out of them!? If nothing else, maybe there can be a minimum amount of community service required to collect these benifits! Just think of all the community projects that could be accomplished by all these millions of people! They would still have more than enough time to search for new jobs, and it might even incintivise some of the people that... more »

Stop helping everyone else and help OURSELVES!!

The US is willing to spend our hard earned tax dollars helping other countries that don't even want to help themselves. It's time to stop paying foreign aid and save that money until we can turn our debt around. Once we get our debt under control we can revisit the idea of wasting our money on other countries.

Make USPS Shipping a Mandatory Option in Fed Gov't Facilities

USPS Priority and Express Mail are very cost effective and dependable shipping solutions. Yet, USPS is not even available as a shipping option in some federal government facilities. USPS shipping supplies and training should be available to anyone military or civil servant. Granted, not everything can be shipped using USPS, but it should be the preferable option when and where it's most cost effective. It will not... more »

END BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP!!

This is an idea from the 1800s that anyone born on United States soil is automatically a citizen. Other countries do not do this! You have to be born of a citizen to be a citizen. I think ending this practice will basically solve one of the biggest immigration issues we have. The practice of illegal imigrant coming here to have children (aka anchor babies) so that they can stay in this country. Just something to think... more »

One Security Clearance to Cover all Agencies

My idea is to have one security clearance, or background check to cover all, or at least most agencies. For example right now a person can already have a Top-Secret clearance with the Department of Defense, and they would have to start a background investigation all over again if they were to apply with another agency, even if it’s only for a Secret clearance. They would have to fill out the same SF-86, the same eQip... more »

Government Overspending

The US Governemnt pays top dollar on everything that they purchase. WHY!? We buy most things in bulk and you would think that we would get it for a cheaper price but we don't. Stop the useless overspending. I am an aircraft mechanic for the DoD and US Air Force Reserves. when we pay $250,000.00 for a winch it's getting a little ridiculous or $70,000.00 for a windshield, or even $5.00 bot a 10 cent bolt. Needless to say... more »

Eliminate Air Force Fitness Assessment Cell

The Air Force is paying civilians to conduct bi-annual fitness testing of military members. This shows a complete lack of confidence in the integrity of Airman and is a serious waste of resources. Immediately stand down the fitness assessment cells and return fitness testing responsibility to military members. We can control nuclear weapons but can't be trusted to count push-ups? Does anyone else see a problem with this?... more »

Zero Tolerance for Fraud

The GAO estimates $17 BILLION dollars of improper Medicare payments each year.

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program pays out $4.6 BILLION in improper and fraudulent benefits annually.

The Department of Veterans Affairs loses $800 MILLION annually on improper and fraudulent payments.

And the FRAUD list goes on and on and on, totaling OVER $100 BILLION PER YEAR!!!

1ST...I suggest that we include the statement... more »

Bill foreign countries for expenses incurred by their citizens

The U.S. gives aid to almost every country in the world in one way or another. If a foreign citizen uses U.S. services without paying -- hospitalization and medical care at the top of the list -- hospitals etc. should send the bill to the State Dept which would bill the appropriate country. If the bill is not paid within 30 days it is withheld from their foreign / military aid and the State Dept should repay the hospital/institution... more »

Less frequent replacement of plastic bags in trash cans

I have noticed that when the janitors come around to empty people's trash cans (which typically occurs once or twice a day), they often take out the plastic bag with the trash in it and put a new bag on the trash can. This is wasteful both with regard to the cost of the plastic bags and the external cost to the environment. Most of the time it would be perfectly acceptable for the janitors to simply dump out the contents... more »

SAVE MILLIONS PER YEAR BY ELIMINATING WASTED BAH!

There are over 30K mil couples (one mil member married to another) on active duty in the USAF. Both spouses are receiving untaxed Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH). One of the member’s is receiving BAH at the “single” rate (i.e. they have a spouse and/or child) rate, while the other is also receiving BAH at the “single” rate. This is obviously necessary, if they are stationed in separate locations. However, if they are... more »
