I understand talking to several military members and I experienced myself that military members who are homeowners are paying a high price to educate their children in various states. Homeowners are paying property taxes which go towards support their local schools and DOD is also paying for those same students. Why is that? Military families are paying double to educate their children if they own a house in the community where their kids are schooled. The school should receive one or the other, but not both. What is the cost to the government when DOD are paying those same school districts? Stop collecting double from military families and the DOD because they happen to own a home in those communities.
