We are currently required to print almost all of our emails. Although it is useful to print some emails, it seems extremely inefficient and wasteful to print every email. Furthermore, this rule seems outdated and is not likely followed by most employees. Allowing employees to electronically file their emails rather than print them would save the government money and reduce our negative impacts on the environment. Printing all emails uses a tremendous amount of paper and ink and also requires substantial filing space.
