US Customs and Border Protection should do away with the "Voluntary" Relocation Program. The program in its own wording is supposed to be voluntary. Why are we spending around $20,000 to relocate someone when they simply want a change of venue. The program should be limited to one paid transfer. After that it should be completely voluntary. At my station a VRP arrived that originally entered on duty at the station. He has been paid three separate times, only to end up where he started. I feel that this wasteful practice needs to stop. An incentive can still be offered for the hard to fill stations, but the "Voluntary" Relocation Program should be Voluntary.
