Most offices are now equipped with printers that can print on both sides of the page. However, many people do not use this feature.
I would implement a plan where the personnel responsible for IT maintenance in each organization set up default settings for printing preferences. All uses would use these settings, which would include printing two-sided and using black and white ink only. These settings could be overridden manually when a print job is initiated if the user really needed only one side or to use color, but these defaults would be sufficient for most print jobs.
Implementation of this would save money by reducing the amount of paper consumed and prolonging the life of more expensive ink cartridges. This would also have an environmental benefit by saving trees and packaging materials.
