More use should be made of the tchnology available to the government to reduce travel costs. This would not only be a "green" choice but a practical choice. For example it costs millions to send individuals to all managers meetings and to have employees act for the individuals traveling. We have so much technology available that would allow for all managers meetings, territory meetings, training, etc. to be conducted virtually, with computer equipment we have already purchased. Telework is in the forefront to save costs and work/life balance why not achieve the same goal with travel for meetings and potentially training.
