Purchase of the device, maintenance, service and repair become the responsibility of the employee and the service provider, and not the agency.
Aside from becoming a more efficient way to address the communication needs of the agency, an immediate savings from device purchases, replacements, and IT personnel hours for repair will be realized.
If secure agency e-mail and/or calls are required, an app (that is in use at DoD and GAO) is available for supported devices and allows an employee to carry out his/her mission under this recommendation.
