As everyone knows our salaries/wages did not increase this year. However, I believe there is a way for the govt to save money and still reward employees with an increase. Instead of automatically increasing the base salaries every year, consider only increasing the base salary every two to three years, however, increase each step by a % or $ amount. So, if new people come aboard, they will start out with the base that has not changed in a couple years. This will save enought money to allow ust to receive a yearly increase. Also the step increases should be % or flat $ amount. Everyone won't be making the same amount depending on when they started, however, the amount increased will be equal.
