Through employment of simple conservational methods, the United States government stands to realize a reduced financial expenditure for the electrical services it purchases.
Such methods could include a sticker-like label for light switch plates that encourage staff to turn off the lights.
Another idea involves installing auto-off light switch modules that could be set to power down lighting a short duration of time after movement is no longer detected in the area.
Still another idea would be incorporating skylights and other sunlight harnessing items into new (and existing) construction that could supplement lighting powered by electricity.
Light Emitting Diode (or L.E.D) light bulbs, although new and somewhat pricey, should also be considered.
Lighted work areas are important, as is good stewardship of the resources it takes to provide that illumination.
