Currently professional athletes and owners are making BILLIONS (and fighting over the distribution). We should let each state (or city) create a professional team (e.g., football, baseball, basketball, soccer) and eliminate the "professional" (totally overpaid) athletes. We can all still enjoy sports, but the proceeds from tickets and refreshments could be retained by the states (or cities) to provide revenue. I don't know how we let this get out of hand (i.e., we can pay athletes MILLIONS but we can't pay police and teachers good salaries). Let's get real with our priorities. Take the big money from the "professional" teams and put it back into the economy.
