The Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Program needs revamping or elimination across the government. There is emphasis on metrics to get so many Lean Six Sigma Events done per year. Lean Six Sigma Events gobble up many manhours to prepare for and execute. There are many hourly people involved and most of the time the events do not produce anything but paper and a metric. The LSS program seems ill suited for use in administrative type functions that would normally just require a managerial decision to change for the positive. Perhaps it could be applied for manufacturing, warehousing, and shipping; therefore, a revamping of the requirements would eliminate the waste. I personally have sat on at least two events and nothing has materialized. Most employees feel the same way I do. It should be fairly easy to evaluate the inadequacy of the program and the dollars associated with it..
