Keep employees informed about shutdowns and defaults

The federal government has lost millions of dollars in unproductivity by not informing federal workers of what would happen during a shut down or a default. In the case of the shutdown, we were not given details until the day before the shutdown. As a result, many hours will lost with employees stressing about how they were going to pay rent and their loans. Similarly, we are close to defaulting and have no information on how this will impact us, except for what we get from the Washington Post. A website or an email outlining what is known a week before the shutdown or the default would allow us to focus on our work without worrying about whether or not our jobs are safe.
