There are not many government wide video conferencing systems. One is the Tandberg VTC system. The equipment is overpriced, proprietary, and so are the licences. Literally thousands of dollars per unit.
Another services is Defense Connect Online (DCO) which utilitzed web-based adobe connect on the backend. This excellent service is already available to government organizations on multiple networks with NO cost to participants. With approval of webcams you can organizations can all have video conferencing system without having to pay of licenses of Tandberg systems. Even if individuals or groups don't have webcams they can still participate using standard microphones or chat rooms within the sessions. DCO even has a shared desktop option.
Please mandidate the removal of all Tandberg equipment past their current licenses and encourage the use of Defence Connect Online.
