Eliminate FAA's Essential AIr Service

Taxpayers pay hundreds of millions of dollars each year subsidizing commercial air service to about 140 small towns (for example, Lewistown MT or Grand Island NE).

Some of these flights only carry a handful of passengers. This has been labeled "Essential" even though there is nothing essential about this. If the flights were "essential" then the Free Market would support it without needing the subsidies.

Honestly, is it that unreasonable for people flying to/from these small towns to fly into another nearby city with commercial air carriers (which are supported by the free market)? Where in our Constitution does it require that we provide subsidies to every small town that wants an air carrier? Since when does everyone have a “right’ to fly into any small town that they desire?

This is another ridiculous pork program that WASTE all of our tax dollars.
