Dutiable increases on foreign products would increase the federal income to debt ratio, especially shipments from Hong Kong and China. These two countries are flooding our markets with materials that are cheap and counterfeit. Both countries refuse to take action within their own countries and leaves America to pick up the slack. Requiring extra duties for these two countries for importing merchandise would reduce counterfeit products in our markets, reduce fire and safety hazards across the US and raise funds for the government.
