In addition to fining those present in the United States contrary to law, we should start charging the countries of nationality for the detention, removal, and deportation of their citizens. If these countries were doing more to improve the quality of life, that would hinder the influx of people who are "just trying to make a better life." By the way anyone who comes to the U.S., for the purposes of living, working, committing criminal or terrorist acts can make an argument that they are "just trying to make a better life." Those who come here or reside here contrary to law, period, is a slap in the face for all those who wait for years and even decades, and pay hundreds and thousands of dollars to do it the right way. Also the argument regarding "illegals" is not about Mexicans or Hispanics, it is about EVERYONE who violates law of the U.S. If India or China shared a land border with us, we wouldn't be having arguments about Mexicans or Hispanics, it would be about the Chinese or Indians who are here illegally, who are also caught daily on the southern and northern land borders trying to sneak in.
