Continuous Improvement/Lean Six Sigma can be a very valuable tool for identifying waste and streamlining processes. However the fundamental rule is that their has to be a return on investment (ROI). Currenly most CI projects claim savings on cost avoidance or labor reductions without actually eliminating any people or positions. That is a fake savings. Make any CI project that claims labor savings turn in the badge of the person who was let go.
Make any CI project have defensible savings and institute a review of projects one year after implementation to measure their effectiveness.
