A lot of tax dollars are spent on funding trips (lodging, private planes, cars, meals) for "the representatives of the people"; Congress. Instead of members of Congress going to Washington for three days a week, why not devise a system that will allow them to submit their arguments and vote from their local offices in their States. I know that tradition dictates that they should come together and have a "meeting of the minds", but they should be with the People so that they can listen more carefully to what their constituents are saying. It will also provide accountability: everything vote should be able to be viewed by anyone who goes to that central "government" website. This way, they will be held accountable for how they vote, and explain why they chose to vote in a certain manner.
