There should be an option for permanant career employees to work part-time. (Perhaps 4 out of 5 days a week.) The employee could pay out a little more in insurance, etc. but, would have a more family-friendly manageable schedule.
Many professional offices have Monday-Friday hours only. For some employees the higher cost of insurance, etc. may outweigh the burden of scheduling leave and juggling family responsibilities that include repeated visits to the private professional offices during the traditional work week (and hours).
You can bank and shop online at all times of the day, but you cannot go to medical visits or attend children's school appointments unless its within their office hours.
Employees will be better able to focus on their jobs instead of worrying about when they can get off for an appointment, etc.
