On certain type of missions and their requirements, many aircraft tires are replaced far before their wear limits are reached. The reason used is this help prevent a possible tire change at a location which is not "hospitable" to the U.S. The likelyhood of a tire requiring a change upon landing is slim and yet changing a tire before its time cost the govenment about $3000 per tire because we change tires before their ...more »
Many suggestions have been made about this topic and I believe it is one that really needs to be looked into. Aircraft hangars, housing, and all large military/federal buildings should be fitted with the most up to date solar panels. In addition, wind generators as well should be placed on military installations. The power generated would allow the government to reduce the amount of money then spend on electricity. ...more »
It seems everytime you turn around, there is another change to the military uniform. Unless the uniform no longer is useful for the mission it was designed to do, don't change it. If it is not broke, don't fix it.
Ensure all expenses which an individual is claiming on a travel voucher are correct by having receipts. Currently, receipts are not required for anything under $75. One should be required to show proof if there was an expense. In addition, why would you claim laundry for clothes when you are TDY? You have to wash your clothes at home after work and you don't claim it then.
