COMBINE ALL MILITARY UNDER ONE NAME, JUST HAVE THE DIFFERENT AREA BRANCHES, LIKE AIR, WATER, LAND, ETC. EASILY IDENTIFIED IN ONE UNIFORM, ETC. THIS WOULD SAVE ON SATIONARY, HIGH PAID EXECUTIVE COSTS, TRAVEL COSTS, ETC. THINK OF THE MONEY SAVINGS!
Charge a national sales tax on luxury items. If a person can afford the luxury item, they can afford the national tax. Take the national tax and apply to national debt. This way we are not taking food out of anyone's mouth! Luxury sales tax = boats, alcohol, cigarettes, gambling facilities, luxury cars, campers, etc.
If FEMA can't get rid of NEMIS for a better system, then let's make the system work better for processing disaster claims and producing reports. The system was set up back in the 70's and times and processes have changed and the system is not working for us! When a sequence of events happen, NEMIS should be able to send out automatic notifications, complete processes, etc. NEMIS should be able to do more work for us. ...more »
Have one source of data that Fed employees can use to find out information about anyone. This could be available from our computer desktop. This source, could have various levels of security clearance, and have a system like "Clear" or "Lexis Nexis" where various information would be provided depending on the needs of the agency. This would save the agency a great deal of time, energy, efforts for verication and working ...more »
Have like a federal e-library where all information is stored such as all HR, magazine subscriptions, news articles, etc. that employees can access to read. This would cut the cost of subscriptions and have a common communication site for all employees. Labeled Icons could be used instead of menus.
Working at FEMA, we process disaster applicant information. Many times this assistance is delayed because we are waiting to verify information. One piece of information that affects a large number of applicants is their insurance information. Can we have a way that their insurance settlement information populate our computer system with this information? Can we have IRS populate their income, have their employer information ...more »
Many veterans are returning home with physical limitations or returning home with no job to go to. Instead of using a contractor for our security jobs, use our vterans. Many veterans even with physical limitations could sit around and watch a camera for better security. This could save lots of money by doing away with the contractor and contracted employees, less unemployment benefits going out the door!
Our agency deals with many applicants that we assist for rent and many times the HUD applicants rent out the home that HUD assists them with and we pay them rental assistance! This is not only a duplication of benefits but a waste of money. I would like to have HUD do periodic checks or have a way for our agency to check on the homes and the household compositions to avoid them getting double benefits from the government. ...more »
Have more Federal Agencies have IPhone App's.
This would allow greater and quicker access and enhance learning of fellow agencies. This would also allow more transparency and allow faster public access. We could have our computers streamline the information and delegate out the information.
Be able to verify citizenship through DHS, verify SSN through social security, verify income through IRS, etc. could save so much time and energy and avoid fraud.
HAve our computers talk to each other and allow us to access information through a common web site.
