Many employees input directly in this system their time tracking processes for payroll and timekeeping purposes. It is a great system however it defies normal practices with login names and passwords. 1. It uses system server lan login names like hdcorn17. The IRS issued new PHOTO ID Cards about a year or two back. These $200 ID cards at minimum do little to get us anywhere. Some of us still have to have additional cards to enter secure areas because their is no method of temporary affixing or indicating a secure area id. Well I never thought I would have to recommend that the IRS Accounting dept in KCSPC continue to save approximately 5-7 staff years versus reverting back to a antiquated manual process that is much less quality oriented and less professional JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE WOULD NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP. Grievances are inevitable along. Most grievances also have complicated Information Request. Information Request often result in page after page of documentation being photocopied and sent to union representatives for review in the process. Open a NEW SHARE POINT DRIVE. A unliked subject by many however unions and dissagreements between employees and management is not going away. Lets put the ROOT CAUSE for alot not all of the problems is in mgmt's court. Differences in their interpretations often cause conflicts that result in costly management of Information Request, Grievances and even more costly arbitration cases. In the Cincy campus of the IRS LR sends out a memo 7-8 lines long that states we received your information request or grievance. As the NTEU VP at our campus I suggest the ALERTS SYSTEM be modified to automate this process. When LR logs in each case and inputs the stewards name it would automatically generate a EMAIL to the steward giving the alerts number, date and acknowledge receipt as LR desired. Change the LAW. It is my understanding that the FED pays to return packages sent to inmates if it contains items that are not authorized. I am confident inmates are informed of what is allowable and that should be sufficient. I say change the law. Every year hundreds if not thousands of employees submit suggestions into the Employee Suggestion Program ESP. In this program employees are suppose to receive 25% of what is saved in the first year at the IRS. Save over 100 million. Establish a WEB based National Undelivered Mail Adddress Database (NUMAD). This WEB BASED db would allow input from all gov agencies including DMV, FBI, HomeLand Security, Social Security, IRS and others with Undelivered mail issues. 1. Charge a FEE that is commensurate with TE/GE Tax Exempt Org fees.
2. Secure sites can be made available and confirmation of or individual confirmation of personal information to prove whom they are can be accomplished by having them verified by a government entity Court, DMV, FBI or whoever can do the job.
The FED has some of the best computer programmers and innovative thinkers in the world. Yes in the world. I have worked for the IRS now 27 years. I see seasonal employees being laid off over and over again. Sometimes while one area is laying off another needs employees.
