Move up the schedule on cloud migration to benefit from Lower Costs, Cap-Ex Free Computing, Deploy Projects Faster, Scale as Needed, Lower Maintenance Costs, and Resiliency and Redundancy.
Get rid of BlackBerrys or mandate only for Mission critical positions.Every federal employee should not need a BlackBerry. Phase out and use MobiKeys or RSA tokens.
Revamp USA Jobs and or the Hiring process for Federal employment. Why make the process more painful than what Industry does. It seems managers are doing what they can to avoid hiring vets or those covered by special authorities. So much that they will take the time out to scare them away in interviews or write up how unqualified they are just to get to someone they name selected. Standardize security clearance processing or establish agreements between agencies to use one another’s background investigations/adjudication. Each agency fighting to make their BI process distinct from one another is ridiculous and a waste of time and money. It would also help retain applicants entering the federal workforce and moving around within it.
Scrutinizing the use of RWAs will save taxpayers millions. If an Agency cannot perform a function and they need to send their funds to another agency to execute, for a fee; it would be a benefit to the taxpayer if the fee for service agencies received a budget and were mandated to support the other agencies.
