Reduce redundencey

When a veteran's claim is proscessed for either in education or compensation benefits we have to print multiple documents that are already available in an electronic formate. Examples of this is that when developing a veteran's claim for compensation benefits we have to print documents from the Social Security Administration, medical treatment records from VA medical centers, and now private medical records as well. ...more »

Travel Pay Over Paid

Many people are very aware of the abuse of travel pay by many veterans. Some say it should be eliminated but that will most likely not happen anytime in the near future. I am a nurse in Primary Care at a VA and witness and report this abuse frequently. Many veterans truly need help to get to their appointments and developing our own transportation system, as others suggested would also cost a great deal. For the fastest ...more »

Water Savings for equipment washing.

Require rainwater capture on all washrack systems as well as water recycling with oil and water seperators. This is sustainable and the water recycling is already a commercial standard that could apply to DoD vehicles.

I also understand that there are varying circumstances with due process. I also am aware there are many ideas for lowering Government costs related to prisons. BUT this is a serious problem. Why don't we cut down on spending by fixing the ...more »

Hours Spent On Paper Work - Man Hours Initiative (MHI)

Too many man hours are spent on paper work. We have many systems that help streamline this, however, they are still time consuming within their own right, and still produce duplicate and triplicate copies. I understand that we need accountability and record keeping, but we need to develop a system and change the forms process to combine forms or increase the electronic the use and access of filing systems. Consolidated ...more »

One pay system

I still don't understand why we have all these agencies, departments, divisions and we use many different tools to pay employees. I shudder to think about all the money that we waste upgrading all these systems individually when we could maintain one system for all employees. Sure it would take some time to build and of course money, but in the long run it would ensure a consistent experience for employees and ease ...more »

Have DTMO/DTS Assume All Federal Travel Responsibilities

The Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) already performs the "travel agent" function for the Department of Defense. It has personnel in place to book flights and respond to travelers' questions and emergency travel needs. It also has an automated travel management system in place, the Defense Travel System (DTS). DTMO and DTS charge far less than their private industry counterparts (e.g., SATO, FedTraveler, Omega). ...more »
