Add one cent onto all transactions to pay off nations's debt

Whether we like it or not, the national debt is the accumulation of the citizens as a whole. We vote the citizens in that pass laws and bills on both the national and state level. We request/demand that the programs that are currently in place are there to help others and ourselves. Therefore, the debt is our own. One way to take ownership of the debt as a nation is to add one cent onto every transaction nationwide to ...more »

Signs

Instead of constantly remaking signs to put up, place televisions with information on them in order to direct people and educate electronically. These could be like billboards and would be easier to direct people when things in the hospital move such as a sign pointing to the new lab area, etc.

REDUCE GOVERNMENT WELFARE SPENDING!

Reduce government Welfare Spending. Today, welfare spending is the largest item in the federal budget, standing at $888 out of the $3.6 trillion of the federal budget, that is nearly 25% of federal funds. I believe that instead of giving money to individuals who are not currently working, we should provide them with work in their communities in return for pay and benefits. Government Welfare spending is at an all time ...more »

Bottom up savings

This is a program that is to encourage savings starting at the lowest level on up. The folks on the front lines of any agencie know what they need and why and know what needs cut .. so let them do it. In an effort to save get rid of the old idea of spending your buget and then some so you can get more the next year.. this is and always has been a bad idea and just promotes higher spending. Reward the agency/dept. / ...more »

Reinvest in your own budget

The current process to excess property is extremely time consuming and burdensome on property officers. For property under $10,000 federal offices do not receive any return on investment by disposing of property through GSAXcess. The items that are no longer useful or phased out tend to be pushed to the out of site out of mind corner. Agencies could receive a monetary return on their time and energy to excess property ...more »

REFORM CONGRESS

A lot of boys and girls grow up and want to serve their country. These children see their parents working hard, paying their bills, being honest, and respecting each other. When some of these children grow up, they decide that they want to run for political office. Some of these big children get elected to the Congress in Washington DC. WHAT HAPPENS??? A lot of these big children forget the importance of paying their ...more »

OHA to BAH System for OCONUS

All OHA needs to switch to the BAH system. This would drive the OCONUS housing market to be more competitive, with massive benefits to the Air Force, many benefits to the service members, and even, to a lesser degree, some benefits to the local community. Members have absolutely no incentive for saving the Government money under the OHA system. Short term estimated savings in Guam alone: $45,000,000+ per year Long term ...more »

Stop making parts of programs that have nothing to do with it.

When the Obamacare package came up and I heard it was 2500 pages long, it made me wonder how long a bill can really be. So I started reading some of it, and quite frankly I was rather upset. Many many portions of the bill had nothing to do with healthcare, but rather it gave money to states for other things. So, really the US government needs to stop bassing bills with all those extras, and also needs to amend bills ...more »

When on welfare have the people sign a contract.

It is not the governments responcibility to pay for children when people are having them when they are in a situation where they can not afford them in the first place. Have those who are on welfare sign a contract stating they will not have anymore children then what they have. And if they have kids while on welfare they lose the check they are getting and can not get welfare again.

Get rid of Congresses Personal Jets and Other things

Right now the biggest thing that comes to my mind is Nancy Pelosi and the multi million dollar jet she had the government pay to get her so she could fly nonstop from her home state to DC, with her, her crew, and 200 reporters. Seriously, why is the government paying to transport reporters? Everytime her aircraft flys in any direction it costs the taxpayers 60,000 dollars. Why not do away with all the private aircraft, ...more »

SAVE money on TDY; institute Webinars and "Live" media

The federal government spends an exorbitant amount of funds every year on travel and TDY. Most of the funds spent on TDY missions could be used to offset other costs for more pressing issues. There are reasons that many directors and leaders need to travel in order to satisfy mission requirements, but a majority of TDY missions for many others were/are unnecessary. Hundreds of millions of dollars in federal monies can ...more »

Alternate Work Schedule & Telework Mandate

With roughly two million federal civilian employees, of which 15% (~300,000+) work in the Washington DC Metro area, demand put on the daily infrastructure (I-66, I-95, etc) is substantial. Currently, most personnel would work a normal 40 hour work week (5 days x 8 hours). If an AWS (Alternate Work Schedule) was put in place, where each employee would work eight, 9 hour days and one, 8 hour day per pay period, this would ...more »
