Working in my office I had to pay telecom invoices for field offices. One thing I noticed is we would receive huge invoices for one phone line. Employees with mobile phones provided by the government do not also need a land line.
Add software to government laptops so that calls can be made using the microphone.
This would take away the need for purchasing phone plans, allow a seamless transition for work at home, and remove the need for physical landline telephones.
Discontinue the use of land lines, and use mobile phones at the office and when telecommuting.
