Eliminate SSI overpayment administrative waivers

Currently, an SSI overpayment under $1000 can be automatically waived if the claimant just requests it. I understand that if a person appeals the overpayment, the cost to fight the appeal may outweigh the actual overpayment and would not be worth it, BUT the government should not automatically waive these. Today alone, I did 14 administrative waivers totaling $353; not alot of money but it all adds up! And this was ...more »

Social Security Supplemental Retirement Plan (SRP)

The Social Security Supplemental Retirement Plan (SRP) would provide an opportunity for all Americans to contribute toward to their future economic security by putting aside money into a complementary, incentivized retirement account established in conjunction with their SS account. It would function much like the federal employees' Thrift Savings Plan and offer lifecycle plans as well as Treasury securities. Borrowing ...more »

REDUCE GOVERNMENT WELFARE SPENDING!

Reduce government Welfare Spending. Today, welfare spending is the largest item in the federal budget, standing at $888 out of the $3.6 trillion of the federal budget, that is nearly 25% of federal funds. I believe that instead of giving money to individuals who are not currently working, we should provide them with work in their communities in return for pay and benefits. Workforce Managemnt & Furloughs

Encourage Savings Bond Purchase - Invest in U.S.

There used to be an annual Savings Bond drive at government agencies, but I haven't seen a campaign in over twenty years. We have annual campaign drives for the CFC, so why not for Savings Bonds? Reinstitute this annual campaign to bring awareness of the benefits of savings bonds to a new generation.

Stop Printing the $1 Bill

The Federal Government has tried multiple programs in order to promote the use of the $1 coin (which is far more cost effective than it’s printed counterpart). The only program which is guaranteed to work is to stop making the US $1 bill.

Flat Tax and Reduce the IRS

Create a flat tax for everyone with no loop holes, exemptions, or tax breaks.

Reduce the size of the IRS by at least one half of current staffing, associated offices, and vehicles.

This would create a vast resource of monies for government and remove the associated bureaucracies that weigh this great nation down. It would be a very positive step in getting our nation out of the massive debt crisis.

Mandate Deliquent Federal Tax Pymts as Condition of Employment

"Nearly 100,00 federal civilian employees owed $1 billion in unpaid federal income taxes in 2009, according to the IRS. While the The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has passed a bill, why wait for it to be further voted on? Why not have the ...more »
