Sustainable Government IDs from Recycled Plastic

The government spends thousands to millions of dollars making plastic IDs for their government employees each year. When these IDs expire or their beholder leaves his/her position, they are then tossed into the trashed and disposed as waste; waste destined to sit in a landfill. Why not recycle them? By making IDs out of recycled plastic and then recycling the IDs themselves after use, the government could not only increase... more »

Eliminiate Congressional Retirements for less than 20 years serv

There is no excuse for paying any congress person a retirment if they have not been in office for at least 20 years. They should not get an inflated reitrement from the tax payers. If they want a retirement paid for by the tax payer then they have to earn it. it should not be given to them for serving 1 or 2 terms in office. If they don't make it to 20 years of service then apparently they weren't doing a very good... more »

Cut DoD Funding - Streamline it

The fact that DoD gets the majority of our funding in this country is sickening. We are the most advanced Military nation on earth yet we have no enemy to fight. Why are not downsizing and doing away with waste in the military? Cuts have to be made all across the board and so far this sacred cow is getting away with giving pay raises. Lets cut and start trimming more of this fat.

institute a LIGHTS OUT program.

In my building alone there are unused offices and rooms with lights on ALL day long. Why arne't these lights shut out? I'll walk by and flip them off only to return later in the day and they'll be burning brightly. Turn out the lights and start saving money. That's a very simple way to save the tax payers money.

Eliminate Corporate Tax Breaks

There is no reason the government nor the tax payer to be providing tax breaks for any company. The amount of time spent on this at the IRS is astonomical. This should be eliminated and then use that revenue to pay down the national debt. Make corporations pay their share of taxes. After all if they want to do business in this country they have a stake in its success.

Eliminate the Department of Education

Do away with this agency completey and return the responsbility of education to the states and to the parents of children. Maintain a staff to run the Pell Grant program and do away with the rest. Having national standards for education is a complete waste of time. Education should be focused on developing an individual students talents instead of a broad liberal arts education. Having someone focus on a specific... more »

Eliminate Obsolete Travel Contractor

Carlson Wagonlit/Sato Travel is a government contractor to forty-eight (48) federal agencies and every branch of the military. Last year, they did $2.3 billion in travel sales to federal agencies. Transactions for travel, especially airfare, with Carlson Wagonlit, can cost two to three times what the individual can book online. Worse, the company's website is tedious and frustrating to use. And, if there is an error,... more »

Eliminate Congressional Influence by groups.

The government was created to run the affairs of the people and not to cater to special interest groups. If government cannot manage its affairs or work in the best interest of the people then those who work to influence policy in their decision should be eliminated. The goverment should be working on providing basic services not providing tax breaks and tax credits to groups. I think the congress needs to vote in... more »

Stop Mowing when budgets decline

There is no need to continue mowing lawns on goverment grounds when their is a budget crunch. Let the grass grow and stop wasting money. We have our lawn mowed here even when the grass doesn't need it. They show up 2 times a week, mow and leave. I know they're under contract but allow for a more flexible contract to stop mowing when it doesn't need to be done.
