In State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants

The federal government should not support and state's tuition program if it involves an illegal alien. This illegal alien program to pay in state tuition fees no matter where they live is offensive. My children can not go to another state and pay in state level fees so why should they. When are we going to enforce our laws on immigration instead of causing a tumor on our already overburdened and expensive education... more »

Over stocked supply rooms, Give to Education

I’ve noticed that supplies are often stocked and forgotten after its initial necessity. It’s time to clean out the supply rooms; file cabinets and office draws that are no longer in use. As we go green, removing old file folders, binders, etc… these items can be re-used as well. Save the paper clips. With the high demand among our public school systems for school supplies, let’s reallocated these items to the public... more »

Make it C.O.U.N.T.!

The C.O.U.N.T. program (Conservation Organized Under New Terms) would be developed as a checks and balances system to help conserve financial resources for welfare programs across the 14 Federal agencies involved. This system would allow eligible welfare recipients the opportunity for education, housing assistance and monetary allowance under new terms and agreements. First, set a reduced welfare budget taking off 3%... more »

Mandate Financial Education in Public Schools

Statistics show that most people have very little money in their savings. If they were to miss 1-2 paydays, the financial consequences could be dire. We need to teach school age children the importance of saving and investing in their future. This will prevent many bankruptcies and welfare benefits that many people have come to rely on.

"It's Not My Money"

Educate government employees so that they understand that it really IS THEIR MONEY that they're wasting. This is one of the most common phrases in the military. The government is never going to reduce its own expenses. Individuals do that.

Environmental Regulations for All Public Schools

Dear Mr. President and Mr. Vice President: Congratulations for opening this important dialogue! As a former MA & GA Teacher, and now a current DC Public School Teacher, I have been appalled at the enormous waste generated by our public schools, nation-wide. I have worked with my principal for 2 years, trying to get a simple recycling program started in our building. We asked the Mayor's office, the DOE, and even private... more »

GOING GREEN

With our world today, our natural resources are diminishing, and we are trying to do what we can to reserve them. Solar panels could be built, and save money spent on energy throughout time. Small solar panels can power small things throughout our facilities, if the government does not want to spend millions on huge solar panels. A great way to promote going green could be installing solar panels on the GEMS (Green Environmental... more »

A Sustainable, Efficient, and Green Solution

I propose a solution that improves the government's use of funds in a sustainable, green, efficient manner that fosters education and creativity while linking the country together and allowing kids to create and explore. I propose the government catch up and do what private industry has been doing for decades. Places like RAFT (Resource Area for Teaching) combine industry “waste” and turn trash into treasures for teachers... more »

Mandate Electronic Textbooks

For states and communities receiving federal funding, mandate or provide incentives for their preference to electronic text book format distribution rather than hard copy. We live in a digital age. Education is an area where we can innovate with very little effort. Imagine being able to manipulate all your educational material seamlessley via multi-devices.

1 computer system - VA ONE Processing System

When I began working for VA over 20 yrs ago we operated out of computer system under the (BDN) Benefits Delivery Network. This system was tied into all parts of VA. The main part we used was to pay deserving veterans benefits for their lost wages due to a slightly to completely debilitating disability. This disability being due to their service for their country. This system was in the DOS format and slightly cumbersome... more »

Lets all be “Jolly Green Giants”! Save: $$$, time, & our environ

If u don't have time to read my idea..it's good lol NO MORE SENDING LETTERS! This idea can be spanned into many departments. LPN

I strongly feel nurses should NOT have access to veterans service connection status (as on their face page in cprs). I feel it creates a bias as many civilian nurses are not fully educated on what it truly means to be service connected. Knowing a veteran's sc percentage does not change the type of care we give. All too often I have heard fellow nurses bring this up and say things like, "he/she doesn't look sick" or "its... more »

Modernizing DAU Online Course Delivery

I have never been a fan of online courses, particularly ones where a student simply clicks through a set of slides. However, online course delivery has evolved into a format that is not only cheaper, but one which can actually provide a higher-quality learning experience than a traditional classroom. Universities around the world are now providing virtual classrooms for their students. I encourage you to view MIT’s free... more »

Decrease turn around & increase job satisfaction & performance

The way job specialties are given to military personnel could be improved. Statistics show that job satisfaction is directly linked to performance and longevity. Not all jobs in the government, particularly in the military, could be matched to all trainees but a certain percentage could potentially walk away with a job that suits them. We spend millions of dollars yearly training our military personnel and other departments... more »

The United States Government is the Worlds Largest Non Profit

Run it like one. We're not always busy. We're here when you need us... Pay us less. Train us to do better jobs, pay for our education, and then let us rejoin the private sector before we get a pension. Entry level US Government jobs, should be treated like the Millitary, come here, get skills, and then go do useful work. Cut management by at least 50%, it's almost all useless bureaucrats anyway. Use that money... more »
