Reduce/ Eliminate the National Debt - Not so Common Sense

My idea is for the "powers that be" to develop the ability for any monies left in the budget at the end of the year to be applied directly to the National Debt. Meaning that a local office can press a button and the monies go directly to the National Debt, they are not funneled back to parent agencies where the monies will be spent so they don't loose out the following year. Additionally I would like to add that being... more »

Limit rehab and recover patients visits per year

In foodserive I can say I see the same patients walk through recover and rehab bi monthly or even yearly. When I speak of recover patients I am talking about durg and alcohol abuse. Patients will go to VA to VA for treatment over and over again. I think we should limit the number of times a patient can use the recover or rehab program. I have know certain people to use the program over 20 times!! I have even heard or... more »

UNEMPLOYMENT = COMMUNITY SERVICE

If we are going to pay people who are unemployed, why don't we get some work out of them!? If nothing else, maybe there can be a minimum amount of community service required to collect these benifits! Just think of all the community projects that could be accomplished by all these millions of people! They would still have more than enough time to search for new jobs, and it might even incintivise some of the people that... more »

Physical Fitness Assesment for ALL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES

The Government workforce should set the example to the rest of the US population by eating healthy and exersizing 3 times a week (at minimum). An idea to begin this practice would be to enforce a Physical Fitness test for all Government employees similar to those in the armed forces. This would save miliions in medical expenses and would most likely reduce the large number of disability retirements that take place.

SAVE MILLIONS PER YEAR BY ELIMINATING WASTED BAH!

There are over 30K mil couples (one mil member married to another) on active duty in the USAF. Both spouses are receiving untaxed Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH). One of the member’s is receiving BAH at the “single” rate (i.e. they have a spouse and/or child) rate, while the other is also receiving BAH at the “single” rate. This is obviously necessary, if they are stationed in separate locations. However, if they are... more »

MINIMIZE USE OF COLOR PRINTERS

The purchase cost and supplies are prohibitively expensive when most color work is only needed for one page or letterhead. A set of toner cartridges on our new printer lists at $1,300.00. With no restrictions, the availability of color printing invites intentional and accidental abuse. The environment does not need 3X or 4X the toner cartridges that would be produced by monotone printing only.

Are you really listening to us?

Many times the suggestion has been made to stop the end-of-year spending to use up money left in the budget, and to put this money back in the "pot" or apply it to the next year's budget. This suggestion would save MILLIONS - not the paltry amount saved by stopping mailing of a publication. Are you really listening to our ideas or just pacifying us by making us think you really care about wasteful spending?

OHA to BAH System for OCONUS

All OHA needs to switch to the BAH system. This would drive the OCONUS housing market to be more competitive, with massive benefits to the Air Force, many benefits to the service members, and even, to a lesser degree, some benefits to the local community. Members have absolutely no incentive for saving the Government money under the OHA system. Short term estimated savings in Guam alone: $45,000,000+ per year Long term... more »

Federal Employee Doctors for SSA & Disability = Reduced Claims

Individuals can currently receive social security and temporary or permanent disability benefits by getting a doctor to agree and fill out the necessary forms to request claims. If these individuals know the system and know what to tell the doctors they are seeing, it is easy for them to obtain the benefits. If the government hired professional doctors to evaluate these individuals before they are able to get benefits,... more »

Stop making parts of programs that have nothing to do with it.

When the Obamacare package came up and I heard it was 2500 pages long, it made me wonder how long a bill can really be. So I started reading some of it, and quite frankly I was rather upset. Many many portions of the bill had nothing to do with healthcare, but rather it gave money to states for other things. So, really the US government needs to stop bassing bills with all those extras, and also needs to amend bills... more »

When on welfare have the people sign a contract.

It is not the governments responcibility to pay for children when people are having them when they are in a situation where they can not afford them in the first place. Have those who are on welfare sign a contract stating they will not have anymore children then what they have. And if they have kids while on welfare they lose the check they are getting and can not get welfare again.

Eliminate Government Programs that have no effect.

Why is the government sponcering so many programs that in the long run show no affect on what they are for? I would like to know.

Anyway, lets get rid of all the programs that have been proven to show no affect other than to just make you feel good they are there. With the resources freed up from those programs we can put more money into education or debt repayment and get this country right back on track.

END BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP!!

This is an idea from the 1800s that anyone born on United States soil is automatically a citizen. Other countries do not do this! You have to be born of a citizen to be a citizen. I think ending this practice will basically solve one of the biggest immigration issues we have. The practice of illegal imigrant coming here to have children (aka anchor babies) so that they can stay in this country. Just something to think... more »
