Enforce the Telework Mandate

By enforcing (really enforcing) telework for non-essential, eligible, and related personnel, the Government will save tremendously on the abundance of unused space, parking, transportation, electricity, fuel consumption, security, etc. We desperately need to ENFORCE this mandate which has the potential to cut costs significantly. Too many "old school" government personnel are inhibiting our advancement for a desire ...more »

Reduce the number of Presidential Appointments

Currently there are over 1200 presidential appointments which takes him a lot of time and effort to determine. If this were reduced to 250 or so of the most important and highest profile billets (Departments Secretaries, certain key Ambassadorships, Supreme court Judges, etc) it would greatly reduce the burden on the office. This will also allow the agencies to have more control of the people they have working in positions ...more »

GSA - Why???

Why do we have a full organization that manages vehicles, buildings, and other commodities that government offices uses or needs and YET they can BE the biggest violators of their own system. They charge outrageous prices on simple office supplies, outrageous prices on rent and services, and outrageous prices on anything that has their name attached to it. I would love to here WHY?????

If Gov Employees wants to be treated more like civilians

then i believe we should give them what they want but that means no unions and when they do not complete work assignments or take excess leave they should be fired. that would eliminate all the excess weight the government carries now because these employees keep on doing what they do and no one process them out because of the process you have in place now. also along those lines is in the military you have ONE commanding ...more »

Bonuses

I have a real heartache with the disparity of bonuses between the worker bees and management--especially SES and political appointees. If the workforce is capped at 1% then everyone else should be as well. If the government thinks they are worth more money than their salaries then it should make the actual pay scale for those positions higher. This creates hard feelings in the work force which makes for less productivity. ...more »

GSA cleaning

GSA has people staffed all week to clean the offices each day. There is no need to clean offices everyday or have that many people. I think these full time contractors could be split during the week with other offices. Also they are advised to change the bathroom tissue at half a roll. That is a total waste of time and supplies. They should change once they run out. Each stall has room to hold 2 full rolls and someone ...more »

2. CENTRALIZIED PLATFORM FOR CONTRACT WRITING

In compliance with Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, Pub. L. No. 96-511, 94 Stat. 2812 (Dec. 11, 1980), get a centralized system of contracting in place for all civilian agencies. In GSA alone, PBS, FAS, and the Office of Government Wide Policy all have different systems for contract writing. In FAS, we have multiple systems that do not communicate to have information collection and flow down consistency. The multiple ...more »

Saving Social Security

I believe in Social Security and I believe it can be saved for future generations. You should involve the people who administer federal programs such as SSA to help you (politicians) identify waste and fraud. Did you know, if you retire at 62 and decide to have a new born baby (at 62), that baby gets a Social Security check every month for eighteen years? I do not think the majority of Americans believe in supporting ...more »
