REAL MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT - Mandate spending cuts.

It appears that inadequate management (too many mgrs., absence of management in the work areas, unqualified mgrs., abusive mgrs., the DILBERT syndrome managers, etc.) is at the root of all government agencies in general. Responsibility, expertise, accountability, loyalty (REAL) are traits lacking from Washington to the bottom of the GS scale. Where would we, the people, be if we did as our leaders and representatives ...more »

Veterans Registering for Selective Service

The law says that any male born after 1959 must register for Selective Service upon his eighteenth birthday. Any male that doesn't register for Selective Service is in violation of the law and is not eligible for any government benefit. But what if a male enlists in the armed forces rather than registers? Furthermore, the male reeinlists and is everntually honorably discharged. According to OPM, the veteran's military ...more »

SAVE AWARD WINNERS-CASH-NO VISIT

Honorable Vice-President and President. While the winners do get a personal audience with the President, which is a great honor; I propose: Since we have lost our cost of living raise, had our Step increases delayed for years, had our medical and other incentives we pay increased, that if we WIN this award, please provide a Cash Incentive, rather than a meeting with the President. 2) Eliminate unnecessary spending and cost of project failures a

Without Transparency and sharing of clear, accurate, and real information, excessive amount of money is wasted on programs that are either not needed, terminated, or continued based on bad information. Allow leaders and managers to step down from their positions if they are not committed to finding facts, seeking multidimensional inputs, and not simply making their decisions based on numbers and counts reported by the ...more »

Incentives for Saving

Every time a government employee has to travel on official duty we are forced to use SATO or some other agency designated travel service to purchase our mode of travel & lodging. I have in my possession a copy of a travel confirmation in which the airline ticket cost the taxpayers $1881.80. This ticket could have been purchased for approximately $1000.00 less online without going through SATO. When you add up all the ...more »

Curtail Government-wide spending

The United States Government must do away with the practice of the "use it or lose it" condition for federal assistance monies. "because of excess end-of-year funding," is why a particular training is now being offered in my organization. The business of awarding this year above what was awarded last year, regardless of the "real" need or availability of "backed" money is totally absurd. Liabilities should not exceed ...more »

Let the Taxpayer decide where their $$$ are spent

I think in order to eliminate politicians' "sacred cows" and to neutralize the threat of constant earmarks, the tax payer should be allowed to determine - at least a percentage - where their tax money goes. Some value healthcare over others and more value national defense, etc. Well let the taxpayer put their money where they feel best. In the age of electronic voting you can pick your president but you can't determine ...more »

Fed Review Committee on Lean Six Sigma Project Proposals

The Department of the Army has generated multi-million dollar savings/cost avoidances through the Lean Six Sigma program through implementation of a myriad of projects. Unfortunately, there are also many projects that go through the entire process and review, deemed valuable in efficiencies and then ultimately end up not being implemented for various reasons. There is an inordinate amount of time spent on this entire ...more »
