Saving on Rent

A lot of USAID offices are housed in rented buildings. It would be a great saving if AID built its own buildings. It would eventually save Millions of Dollars.

I am a civilian employee for the Air Force. At present, if I want to receive training I have to fly accross the United States. This costs the goverment money for airfare, meals and lodging as well as the training costs involved. All of my classmates are from other parts of the U.S as well as overseas. My proposal is to incorporate video classroom where I can attend the class from my computer. This happens in the ...more »

Using "wrong" answers to inform teaching

Our research has shown that if we are trying to measure cognitive maturity with test scores, because students answer using their cognitive maturity, that this variable is statistically unrelated to total scores but is strongly related to their answer-selection patterns. Some recipients of Pell Grants also receives other scholarships, grants, aid and stipends depending on the program or school they are attending. This is in excess of the total amount actually needed for tutition, books, room and board just because they meet a family income level. Often these students are using the excess funds from the pell grant to purchase cars, larger apartments, and other extravagances at the expense ...more »

Veterans to lecture to high (junior) high stud.on illegal drugs.

Veterans that have graduated from the rehab. drug program should be allowed to lecture to junior/senior high students on the bad effects of illegal drugs. The veterans that participate in this program should be paid by the federal government minimal wage for that day. There are many veterans that are in need of a meaningful job like this.
